Boiler and Radiant Heat Services in Albuquerque
Radiant floor heating is one of the most comfortable ways to heat your home, and it's especially common in Albuquerque's pueblo-style and adobe construction homes. At MGP Mechanical, we install, repair, and maintain boiler systems that provide that even, silent warmth radiant heat is known for.
Boiler Installation
Whether you're replacing an aging boiler or installing a new radiant heat system, we offer a range of options to fit your home and budget. We install traditional gas boilers for radiant heat applications and Navien combi boilers that provide both home heating and domestic hot water from a single compact, wall-mounted unit.
Combi boilers are an increasingly popular choice because they eliminate the need for a separate water heater, save significant space, and operate at 95 percent efficiency or higher. They're ideal for homes with radiant floor heating and moderate hot water demand.
Rebates on Boiler Installations
ENERGY STAR certified combination boiler and water heater units qualify for rebates of up to $675 through New Mexico Gas Company. As a participating contractor, we help you access these rebates and handle the paperwork. Combined with the energy savings from a high-efficiency unit, upgrading your boiler can pay for itself over time.
Boiler Repair
Common boiler problems we repair include no heat or insufficient heat, strange noises like banging or kettling (usually from mineral buildup), leaks around the boiler or piping, circulator pump failures, zone valve issues, pilot light or ignition problems, and uneven heating between zones.
Albuquerque's hard water is particularly tough on boilers, causing scale buildup inside the heat exchanger that reduces efficiency and can lead to premature failure. Regular flushing and maintenance helps prevent these issues.
Annual Maintenance
Boilers require annual professional maintenance for safe, efficient operation. Our maintenance service includes checking water pressure, inspecting the heat exchanger for cracks or corrosion, testing safety controls, bleeding air from the system, and verifying all zone valves and circulators are working properly. A well-maintained boiler can last 15 to 30 years — significantly longer than most furnaces.
